Lecture
Organizer: Chair Prof. Stalder
Lecturers : Prof. Dr. Laurent Stalder
Time : Tuesday 8:00-10:00
Location : HCI G7

The object of this lecture course is contemporary architecture in Western Europe and North America (from ca. 1960 up to today). It will examine the different architectural concepts dealing with always new technical inventions and constantly changing social practices. The focus will thus be less on individual architects or single buildings than on various themes that defined the architecture of the time, with concepts such as “Science Fiction“, „Corporate Design“, „Pop“, „Autonomy“ or „Deconstruction“. The objective of the lecture course is to use these themes to analyse paradigmatically the relationship between architectural and discursive practices.
