Michael Gnehm earned his PhD in Art History from the University of Zurich and his habilitation in Art and Architectural History from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH). In 2006, he was awarded with the Prix Jubilé of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences. After having lectured at the Academies of Art and Design in Basel and Zurich, he is, since 2008, lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture at the ETH, and, since 2009, lecturer at the Institute of Art History, University of Zurich, where he has held the post of Visiting Professor in History of Early Modern Art for spring term 2010. His research and publications focus on art and architecture from the 15th century onwards.
